- Word Limit: Abstracts must not exceed the word limit of 250 words (excluding the title, authors, and keywords). No Tables, No Figures, No References in the main body.
- Keywords: Provide maximum 4 keywords, which should be written in bold and italics, describing the focus of your abstract.
- Title: Each word of the title must start with a capital letter. The title must be written in bold phase and font size of 12pt in “left alignment” with single spaced line.
- Abstract Writing Guidelines:
- Introduction/Background: Provide a brief introduction to the problem, research question, or background of the study.
Example:
Microplastics (MP) contamination in freshwater systems is an escalating global concern, particularly in developing regions where scientific monitoring is scarce.
- Objectives: Clearly state the research objectives or the problem being addressed.
Example:
This study presents the first comprehensive baseline assessment of MP pollution in the Barnoi River, focusing on the abundance, types, sizes, colors, and spatial distribution of MPs in surface water and fish.
- Methodology: Describe the methods or approach used in the study, including study design, sampling, and data collection techniques, sampling number or population number.
Example:
Field sampling was conducted between February and April 2025 across five sites. Water and fish samples were analyzed using density separation and oxidative digestion (Fenton’s reagent), followed by fluorescence microscopy for MPs identification.
- Findings: Summarize the key findings from your research or study.
Example:
Results revealed pronounced spatial variability in MP concentrations in water, ranging from 0.33 to 56 particles/L, with urban-industrial zones (Sites 2 and 3) exhibiting the highest levels. Fragmented plastics were dominant (63.2%), followed by fibers (27.1%), films (6.9%), and pellets (2.8%). MPs within the 2–3 mm size class were most prevalent (29.4%), and color analysis showed transparent (29%) and red (19.7%) particles to be the most abundant.
- Future direction and/or implications: Provide a summary of the implications of your research findings and their contribution to the field.
Example:
The findings highlight the urgent need for improved plastic waste management, wastewater treatment, and public awareness to curb plastic contamination. It also offers valuable scientific evidence to guide policymakers in developing targeted strategies for freshwater conservation and public health protection in urbanizing areas.
